What We Need:
To facilitate and accelerate the aggressive growth that RCA is experiencing we are seeking a Registered Nurse that will provide professional nursing care to patients with behavioral healthcare needs and work with clinical and case management staff to coordinate care and assist with treatment plans for clients.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:
• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patient and relatives to gather case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
• Make nursing diagnosis of the medical status of patients and recommend treatment options.
• Consult with medical and other behavioral healthcare staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for clients.
• Administer and note reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
• Arrange further medical attention when necessary.
• Assist the client in understanding the nature of the disease of addiction and the need for treatment.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
• Test for vital signs of pain and ensures treatment of pain.
• Document all patient information on medical charts and follows physician’s written orders.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results according to standard medical recordkeeping.
• Provide courteous, high quality service to patients and members of the public by responding to requests for service or making appropriate referrals in a timely manner.

Qualifications

What You’ll Need:
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in Maryland or compact state required.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 2 years of experience in behavioral healthcare and/or addiction services is preferred.
• Knowledge of health care, detoxification process, addiction, co-occurring disorders and DSM criteria and terminology.
• Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar.
• Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
