The IMPACT Engagement Specialist is primarily responsible for participating in assessment, evaluation, brief intervention screening, planning, referrals, linkages, monitoring, advocacy and treatment of delegated clients. The IMPACT Engagement Specialist works within BCCS and other outside organizations to engage and then link delegated clients to appropriate care and treatment. The IMPACT Engagement Specialist is responsible for providing quality, sufficient and appropriate services and for maintaining high professional standards. The IMPACT Engagement Specialist works in the intake department at the Lancaster Avenue location in Wilmington. The goal of this program is to engage consumers at risk for HIV and HCV and provide education, testing, counseling, and when applicable, treatment. The engagement session requires a face-to-face motivational interviewing session that may or may not result in the completion of an assessment. Additionally, referrals and linkages are offered to the consumer. The IMPACT Engagement Specialist works to make linkages seamless and successful.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for a caseload of clients, as identified by program requirements and in accordance with state regulations.
Complete required evaluations and assessments.
Document all clinical services and interventions performed within the clients ‘electronic record.
Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Maintains contact with outside providers to coordinate care.
Confer with the Clinical Supervisor on a daily basis for casing.
Participates in weekly treatment team meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor.

Qualifications

Must have High School Diploma or GED
At least 2 years in related field experience in substance abuse or mental health as a peer
Must attain peer certification within 1 year.
