Responsibilities

As a Clinical Supervisor with BCCS, you will:

1. Comply with all BCCS policies and procedures.
2. Provide direction to, supervise and evaluate via day to day observation and annual staff performance reviews Program staff, including:
• Counselors
• Assessors
3. Conduct and promote staff orientation, development and on-going training.
4. Assist the Program Manager in the hiring and termination processes.
5. Ensure that Counselors follow agency policies and procedures.
6. Act as Program Manager in the absence of the Program Manager.
7. Participate in BCCS subcommittees, committees and meetings.
8. Report progress or deficiencies in the Program to the Program Manager.
9. Make recommendations to the Program Manager concerning program planning and changes.
10. Provide regular reports and any specially requested reports to the designated administrative and fiscal personnel.
11. Review evaluations, change recommendations as necessary and review changes with primarily counselor responsible for the client.
12. Conduct Addiction Severity Index (ASI) assessments, if approved as an assessor.
13. Assign clients to Counselors and Assessors
14. Review, at random and as required by licensing and accreditation standards, case records and take appropriate action when deficiencies are identified.
15. Assist Program Manager in preparing for audits and other licensing and accreditation reviews.
16. Participate, when necessary, in the client intake and transfer processes.
17. Evaluate assigned clients and formulate, in consultation with the Program Manager and counselor, treatment plan goals.
18. Meet with assigned clients as required to formulate and carry out therapeutic goals.
19. Treats clients using individual, group and/or family counseling/education as indicated on the treatment plan.
20. Provide case management services, coordinating and monitoring referrals to other agencies.
21. Assists clients in obtaining entitlements.
22. Observes urine testing when necessary.
23. Confer with Program Manager for casing.
24. Review medical requests and take appropriate action.
25. Confer with medical staff, including psychologists.
26. Review contingency contracts.
27. Maintain appropriate written records.
28. Provide outreach and educational activities in the community as required.
29. Meet with counselors and assessors individually once per month and as needed. Meet with counselors in group setting once per month and as needed. Meet with other clinical services staff as needed.
30. Assist clinical staff whenever necessary.
31. Resolve client/counselor conflicts.
32. Provide, when necessary and justified, work-related counseling, administer disciplinary action and address grievances of the Program staff according to BCCS policies and procedures.
33. Promote staff morale.
34. Performs any other duties assigned by the Program Manager.

Qualifications

Qualifications for the position are:
• Master’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Human Services, or related field with 5 years counseling experience in the drug and alcohol field, and be pursuing a CADC; OR
• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field with 7 years counseling experience in the drug and alcohol field and be pursuing a CADC.
