Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, Inc. Schedule and work environment:
M-F DAY SHIFT, flexible hours. This is primarily a community based position and requires in home and community visits. May need use their own vehicle if BCCS car is not available.
Under immediate to general supervision, the Peer Specialist provides peer support services; serves as a client advocate; provides client information and peer support for clients in a variety of settings. They perform a wide range of tasks to support clients in living their own lives and directing their own recovery and wellness process. They will model competency in recovery and wellness. Peer Specialists are responsible for providing quality, sufficient and appropriate services and for maintaining high professional standards.
The Peer Support Specialists will educate and empower individuals by assisting them in developing a strong, stable recovery support system. Peer Support Specialists do this by assisting individuals with self-care and self-awareness, encouragement and support, teaching coping skills and teaching the positive benefits of long term recovery.
The Peer Specialist has daily contact with clients aimed at providing quality, sufficient and appropriate support services.

Must be over 18 years old of age
Certification/Licensure Information - Preferred: Peer certification (CPRS)
High School Diploma/GED Required
2 years experience in the drug and alcohol field; (Can be lived experience) required
Other qualifications:
Valid driver's license and excellent driving record.
