Trauma Informed Addiction Support Through Multiple Intelligences
This 90 minute interactive training helps peer specialists and addiction counselors engage clients with trauma histories by using multiple-intelligence approaches. Participants will explore verbal, visual, musical, movement-based, logical, reflective, social, nature-based, and existential strategies based on trauma informed care principles.
Speakers
Dr. Julius "Dr. J" Mullen Sr. is a nationally recognized speaker, leadership strategist, and behavioral health expert. Through his platform, Dr. J Speaks, he provides leaders, organizations, and communities with practical strategies rooted in brain science, trauma-informed care, leadership development, and human resilience.
Dr. Mullen's speaking and consulting work is informed by decades of executive leadership experience in the nonprofit behavioral health sector. Throughout his career, he has served in several senior executive roles, including several C-suite positions, where he oversaw multi-million-dollar initiatives spanning behavioral health, education, child welfare, and community development. In these roles, he helped spearhead innovative initiatives including a Brain Science Training Institute, Trauma-Informed Management frameworks, Leadership Development initiatives, Equity-Diversity-Inclusion Curriculum, Trauma Response Teams, Lived Experience Innovation Lab, Parent-Driven Education platforms, and Youth Resilience Mentoring programs.
